Why Gebrüder Lenges chooses D-TEC

Gebrüder Lenges in Sankt Vith, Belgium, has been using two D-TEC tanks for the transport of liquid organic waste and digestate for the past five years. In April 2025, the Belgian agricultural media platform Terre Fermière visited the company to find out why they chose D-TEC.

“The steered axles and the lightweight stainless steel give the tanks great manoeuvrability, easy maintenance and long-lasting durability,” explains Alwin Lenges, owner of Gebrüder Lenges.

Gebr. Lenges is active in several sectors, including agricultural work, earthmoving and truck transport. The company also runs a horse farm and a stable with 240 dairy cows. What truly sets Gebrüder Lenges apart, however, is that it operates the only fully private biogas plant in Wallonia.

The company is capable of transporting waste in all its forms. Each year, around 30,000 tons of waste are moved: “By carrying out the transport ourselves, we maintain direct communication with the plant, which greatly improves our response time and flexibility for partners,” says Mr. Lenges.

Confidence in D-TEC

“Many of my competitors also have D-TEC tanks. Of all the options on the market, these tanks convinced me the most, thanks to the available equipment, the comfort and the professional image of the brand. After five years of use, with each tank having transported at least 65,000 tons, I am very satisfied. The purchase may be a bit more expensive, but the quality is excellent,” says the entrepreneur.

Fast and manoeuvrable

“What I also appreciate is the possibility to order a D-TEC with specific options. To keep the tank relatively short and easy to handle, I chose a capacity of 34 m³. The tanks are equipped, among other things, with weighing systems, a rinsing/cleaning installation and a flexible rubber discharge cone.” The latter makes it possible to quickly refill the Vredo without connecting hoses.

In addition, the two D-TEC tanks at Gebrüder Lenges are fitted with steered axles. This reduces tyre wear and improves the trailer’s manoeuvrability: “Thanks to the steered axle we can easily access narrow roads and farms.”

D-TEC lasts 20 years at least

Long term investment

Another feature is that the tank is made of stainless steel. The tank is lightweight, low-maintenance and more resistant to water and corrosion. This extends its service life: "It is a long-term investment, because only wear parts need to be replaced and the tank can be used for years, 20 years without any major problems."
